WHAT IS ARENA WAR?
ARENA WAR is set in an unknown future with a science-fiction/fantasy flavor as a 3rd Person Fighter/Action game based on intense hand to hand combat. Battles take place in a variety of arenas in a tournament setting. All types of melee weapons and armor are employed as well as various styles of hand-to-hand combat.
WILL IT BE AVAILABLE ON CONSOLE OR PC?
ARENA WAR will be available for Xbox 360 and PC platforms.
WHAT IS THE GAME'S GOAL? HOW DO I WIN?
ARENA WAR is a career-building RPG Action game where players create custom fighters with specialized weapons and skills. You advance your character through individual and group combat, gaining skill and aquiring more effective weapons.
Should your character excel in the arena, you may eventually retire in glory in the game's Hall of Fame or even have an arena named after you. The alternative is a long-successful career, earning currency for you and your promoter for use in building new characters and embarking on new careers.
CAN MY FIGHTER GET KILLED?
Yes, fighters can be killed in the arena should you choose to participate in a death match. These matches are the most lucrative and provide the best chance for building fame and reputation in the game. If your character gets killed, you can create a new one and begin your career again.
Players will also have the opportunity to "item-buy" their fallen fighter back if they so desire.
IS THERE A LEVEL GRIND?
ARENA WAR is not based on a level system but instead skills are relative to the actual player’s character performance. Abilities will first be dependent on the base attributes of their character and built upon through career training and upgraded inventories.
CAN I DO ANYTHING BESIDES PLAY AS A FIGHTER?
There are several types of gameplay available- each with unique features.
Fighters – the backbone of ARENA WAR. These characters participate in matches and tournaments, become trainers, and teachers, and may eventually own their own arenas. Fighters provide the basis for competition, fame and fortune. Each has a limited career lifespan before retiring in glory or unrecognized defeat.
Stable Owners – are fighter managers and motivators. Stable Owners gather and build groups of Fighters together under one roof and form a solid stable for competition. Stable Owners gain fame and fortune through the successes of their fighters. Many players will no doubt decide to act as their own Managers. Fighter clans will evolve from Stable Owner alliances.
Arena Owners – these characters are the promoters. Setting up matches and tournaments that not only benefit themselves and their arena’s namesake, but also the Stable Owners, their Fighters and Freelance Fighters. They are the “entrepreneur” of ARENA WAR.
Spectators – players may also choose to be Spectators. For the price of admission to any fight, anyone can watch and wager in-game currency on the outcome.
WHAT KIND OF FIGHT CONTROLS WILL THE GAME HAVE? WHAT'S THE COMBAT GOING TO BE LIKE?
The game will have many familiar action/fighting game moves but it's unique camera will provide a new look to 3D fighting games. Skills are relative to the actual player’s ability to perform the duties of their character. Abilities will be dependant on the base attributes of their character, i.e.; frame, age, and race. A large library of combat moves will be maintained and added to over time. As a fighter progresses through his/her career, more and more of the moves will be made available. These moves are not automatic and the proficiency at which you perform them will be up to you. Just because you have the tools, doesn’t mean you know how to use them. Certain traits will build up over time, such as constitution and stamina. You will also have the option of “purchasing” training to improve these traits.
